What is Shiatsu?
Shiatsu is a traditional Japanese healing therapy. The word "Shiatsu" means finger pressure. It is a form of therapeutic bodywork that is relaxing, restorative and beneficial to health. Shiatsu uses palms, thumbs or even knees, elbows and feet to exert pressure on channels of energy in the body called meridians.
The quality of touch in Shiatsu treatments has the effect of awakening the client's own self-healing power. If the person's energy can be balanced out and revitalized, then healing will take place.
